The US pushes and prods every nation on the planet with the goal of obtaining US interests - the ME is nothing special in that regard.

You're right - most of the planet is amazed at the "insurgents" who would rather blow up a busload of uninvolved innocent civilians than work within a Democratic process under their own elected leaders to achieve something. I have no idea what point you are trying to make here. My point was that the greatness that is Dubai is not due to America except as an outside influence, and in the same way the failures that exist all over the ME are not due to America, except as an outside influence.
