I'm just awake and alert and focused on my favorite topic from further back than Gene Arensberg's short term trading viewpoint.
The man, Gene A:
* spent almost 2500 words on the short term price prospects for gold, (ayup, nailed his ST predilection on that point...)
* made the common mistake most newbie gold analysts make by calling the HUI the "unhedged miners index"...when nothing could be further from the truth. By HUI's own definition, they are only supposed to include in the HUI miners IFFFFFFFFF their hedges are shorter than 18months. BTW...when was the last time you think Gene saw the HUI line-up shook up?
* and spent about 87 words on the Long Term prospects for gold in his same R.I. submission to wit you referenced.
Oh, well...he lost respect points for that one. All this forum needs is another Gold "top caller..."
I thanked you for your posting of Gene's talking points. We all learned something from you taking the time to do so! What more do you want? A big slobbery wet kiss from me? Don't hold your breath.
I had different opinions than your friend, articulated them clearly even with a few spelling error warts included, and tucked in a note of respect for your "friend" after we all learned who you hang out with in the gold market.
And I still won't change a word of that reply.
