I hope you meant the current cost per month. Now the $2 Trillion figure was including the expected total costs over the lifetime including paying for and caring for the vets, the injured, those on permanent disability ect.. I don't know if it was discounted for time value of money since inflation is probably already factored into it.. We are up to a million vets now from this war and a quick dirty calculation with only $20k a year for 40 years at 5% inflation easily brings us to $2 trillion
