WiMax is the new frontier, and will have as much of an impact on our lifestyle as the cell phone did. WiFi has changed the way we use laptops at home, but we are lost outside the 100 feet range of the WiFi antenna. WiMax will fix that. Cell Phones using 2g and 3g networks leave me cold, because of the small keyboard and screen.iPhone is a lovely device,but only within the range of the WiFi antenna. Imagine what a WiMax based iPhone will be like. Intel has demonstrated a Silverthorne chip, which runs x86 software, but with the power drain of a cell phone.This will be shipping early next year. This will make possible ultra small and affordable laptops, which will fit in a Ladies Handbag.Imagine a WiMax connected mini laptops! WiMax based Internet tablets are another grand possibility. Nokia has already announced such a device.I hope that such a device has the useability of the iPhone.
