"Science is a consensus based enterprise." New advances in science don't get produced by concensus. They start out as minority opinions, often heretical, and may eventually become concensus opinions. But science doesn't discover facts by taking polls. "science proceeds cautiously" I don't see the AGW proceding cautiously. I see alternative opinions being targeted for ad hominem attacks. I see false appeals to authority and get on the bandwagon appeals. I see "scientists" (Hansen, Mann) trying to withhold data from potential critics. AGW looks like more of a marketing campaign or evangelistic religion than careful science.
