Explain why a 20 year old Iranian kid or 30 year Iranian mother or 50 year old Iranian Kurdish farmer has to hate the USA. They don't - I know that, and you should know that. I know they don't hate us, it's their own government they can't stand. But they don't run Iran, and it doesn't look like the mullahs' government will fall anytime soon. If the mullahs don't have popular support - which they don't - that's all the more reason why they need to keep Iranian minds focussed on an external enemy - and that's us. Marg bar Amrika! etc. Saying the average Iranian doesn't hate America is about as useful as saying the average German didn't hate America in 1939. The proper answer in both cases is, so what?
