So, I guess your ex-partner's farm should have been rented from a landlord all this time? Give me a break, and go read some books. By the way, farmland is the next frontier for real estate appreciation and has been doing quite well...altho I don't know whether you are discussing a piece of junk land which has disadvantages we can't possibly know about here.
