As long as the people have it in their power to choose their representatives and the government is not acting arbitrarily and against the rights of the people, then there are no lawful grounds for rebellion. Our ancestors made a social compact to enter into a dissoluble union, and as long as our institutions remain within the bounds of representative democracy we are bound to live with it as a civil society.

You aren't being oppressed. You may dislike the results of democracy, but that isn't ground for rebellion. These secessionists are crackpots that romanticize about "the Confederacah" in the words of Eric Cartman. If they are so concerned about federal power they would organize a political group to pressure their representatives to vote according to their interests. But they don't. They just get together, bitch about the feds, and dream of a Balkanized North America that would make Yugoslavia look like a sunday picnic.
