Does it need explanation? Because people meet with Ahmedinijad, exchange diplomatic lies in public, make (futile) attempts at diplomacy, what does that have to do with Iran sending shaped charges to the Taliban? The Iraqis know that they are supplying AQI too, as well as the Mehdi Army. Ideological differences are set aside for national interest. Iran has PLAINLY decided that chaos in Iraq and Afghanistan is in Iranian national interest.
