there have been cases when someone who has been put on their stomach asphyxiates and dies

Usually this is after resistance or a chase - not to say cops don't sometimes enjoy putting people on the ground or go over board at times. Given the huge number of arrests in this country everyday - this is one of those sensational News items that gets reported simply because it's not the norm. I'm not trying to justify the over use of force at times, but I strongly object to blaming the manufacturer of a product clearly demonstrated to be safe when used as recommended. Or guns for that matter, guns put holes in things, if you don't want a hole in something don't point at that thing. Suing manufacturers for a product that works is ridiculous and simply lawyers hunting for deeper pockets.

I'm keeping my ears and eyes open regarding the Phoenix case - very interested in what happens and what they claim caused her death. Witness reports made it out she was acting incoherently ranting and raving madly on the ground about not having a bomb or being a terrorist - pretty dangerous words to use in an airport these days.
