Let me just say this..

If Proposition 1 in Wa State passes it will be the largest tax increase ever in the U.S. of America. It is a 157 BILLION measure that will cost each citizen of Washington State $50,000 over a 50 year period. My grandchildren will still be paying for it long after I'm gone. I looked at a pamphlet I received in the mail yesterday and found that l will receive 0 benefit at much expense. I/we have been paying an RTA (light rail, that still hasn't opened anywhere in the greater Puget Sound region) tax on everything from prop tax to car tabs to sales tax for 11 yrs and light rail will not come anywhere near to where I live. And I'm in a bedroom community that does a lot of commuting into Seattle for jobs.

We have never complained about paying our fair share of taxes, but we are maxed out and refuse to give over 50% of our hard earned money to bureaucrats. This is over the line and will be the final staw for us if it passes.

edit: It is a transportation tax that doesn't seem to add more than 10 miles of roads. All mass transit oriented that serves the few.
