"Class is in session"? I told you that China needs to start making better stuff. Nothing wrong with Chinese DNA, nothing wrong with Chinese brains, either.

Making bad stuff is bad for business. Being a bad person is bad for business.

I'm happy to buy well made Chinese goods. It's the crap I hate.

Like, I recently threw away a Chinese lamp which was 95% well made, but the hinge was made from pot metal, not brass or something else sturdy. And another lamp with 95% good stuff but the switch was made from extremely cheesy plastic. Neither one could be repaired due to the way they were manufactured, either. (All parts either glued or soldered together. I guess if I had several spare hours and a machinist buddy I could fix them but Not Worth It.)(I think I told you about these lamps before, but they really are paradigmatic of the point I am making. And now the vacuum cleaner.)

Am leaving, as soon as I finish typing, to return a Chinese made vacuum cleaner which broke the first time we used it. As soon as I turned it on, and heard the tinny high pitch of the motor, I knew it was trouble.

Aaargh! Burned again.
