You don't find it odd that we are attacking people who are FIGHTING AL QAEDA now?

Hunkering down in the middle of a civil war... alternately wheeling guns around to shoot at first ONE SIDE, then the OTHER SIDE is no way to achieve anything approaching 'victory' for true American long-term strategic goals.

EITHER of two completely different options would stand a much greater chance of working in our interests.

EITHER:

1) Pull out of the middle of the civil war, and then benefit as the Sunni & the Shiite factions (and their foreign national backers) get bogged down in futile and expensive and debilitating civil war....

or,

2) Pick ONE SIDE to shoot at, and stick with it.

But this CURRENT STRATEGIC MISHMASH is disastrously idiotic, and only hurting AMERICAN INTERESTS... not the enemy's.
