Today's so-called conservatives are profligate in their waste of natural resources. Most conservatives I know are conservative by nature in most everything and that includes avoiding waste of money on oil and waste through excess CO2 emissions and waste through billions of dollars in costs that will be a by-product of the damage caused by global warming. Conservatives are known for being good stewards of public property, not for engaging in free-rider activities that lead to a tragedy of the commons. The neo-conservatives of today have successfully brainwashed a new generation into believing in a set of values largely different from the older generation of conservatives. Your statement in your last post to me is ample evidence that you are not a conservative, rather, you are a neo-conservative.
