Ted, > How do you know?

I know plenty of Christian missionaries who have traveled to politically unstable regions. None of them carried any weapons.

I fully expect extremists like the Taliban to view peaceful Christian missionaries as extremist. The Taliban obviously don't want to see any of their people exposed to anything but their own fundamentalist point-of-view.

The Christian missionaries went to help those people see beyond what the Taliban wants them to see. Grassroots change is a powerful force against repression. Why call that desire "self-centered" and "arrogant"?

To me, the truly self-centered and arrogant are those who do nothing but complain about those who want to do something.
