When Pegasus ran the Zortman Landusky their contractor, Degerstrom, used to blast the rock so the ore went in one direction and the ore in another. They also blasted it so they did not need to crush it, but simply took it to the leach pad. They would drill and assay as they went, so they knew exactly where the ore was down to a few yards. They made a profit at .01 oz gold per ton.
