KT,

I don't see how we can prove this.

Virtually every libertarian on the planet that made a political donation made it to Ron Paul. That much we can be certain of. Who else could they possible give to and when in recent history have they ever been more energized?

Many republicans that are anti-war and anti recent federal spending by Bush etc.. (and there ARE many of them) also may have made a contributions to Ron Paul (I have republican friends in NY that have. I am a registered republican even though I consider myself libertarian).

If there are democrats donating, some may be donating specifically to try to upset the republican primary process.

Others may be people that are donating to both sides.

But no one that is a traditional democrat that is also anti-war could possibly be pro-Ron Paul. He wants to dismantle everything they stand for.

I can't argue with what you are seeing near your district, but let's use some common sense here.

Ron Paul is the candidate furthest to the right on all economic/monetary matters. He's also anti-abortion. The only appeal he has to the left is that he's anti-war and strongly in favor of civil liberties (a place that libertarians and the left share) But the typical democrat doesn't need Ron Paul to find that and would find the rest of him way too extreme.
