I don't think that is right. I think prop tax is assessment is based on sq footage of your house and then the land value. I'm not sure how they assess land value, but pretty sure sq footage is the deal for the house. If you ever listen to real estate radio you'll hear them mention that over and over again.

Someone recently told me that basements aren't added to value of house. I'm very sure that is wrong too.
