Huh?

That is like asking if Ike was criticized on television. Public interest groups didn't buy full page newsprint ads in the 1940s.

Get with the times! The criticism of Eisenhower after Torch, around Normandy and during the Battle of the Bulge was very strong, using the methods of the day. The Press editorial pages, the radio commentators, etc.

If you want somehow to say that Ike wasn't criticized, you are wrong. If you want to claim that because the criticism wasn't exactly in the form used today, you get some kind of high ground....well welcome to it.

All of Lincoln's generals were vilified in the Press, even the Northern Press. They were shown as inept, slow, arrogant.

Gee......how unpatriotic those northern pro-union papers were.
