Crimson > I have no sympathy for ANYBODY who knowingly serves as a mercenary for imperialism and Zionism.

I didn't express any sympathy for them, on the contrary, they are largely the architects of their own unfortunate circumstances. But they are human beings, they are fellow South Africans of mine, they have a story to tell and I am prepared to listen to it.

Ironically, they themselves are victims of British imperialism. That's why I find what they do so incongruous and I have mentioned this to an Afrikaner who I know well. But I presume they are desperate and desperate people do desperate things. They will take any job that is available to them, even being a mercenary. I'm sure you know that SA has the highest murder rate in the world and that's a reflection of the level of crime. Many people I know have emigrated simply because of the crime. Indirectly, they are victims of crime. The SAn government regards them as traitors and cowards.

I know for a fact that many Hispanics join the US armed forces in order to obtain a Green Card. So they must be desperate too. Likewise, there are many black Americans who serve in the US armed forces. So it isn't just a racial thing, as some would suggest, that white Afrikaners like killing blacks or Muslims or whoever. That's why I don't sit in judgement on people who join the military, I'm just glad I don't have to. I reserve my criticism for those who give the orders, especially those in government, not for those unfortunates who have to carry them out.
