Moonray,

The thing that may not be factored into this is that usually, there are many that wait for a new operating system to be introduced to buy a new machine. The potential benefit of Leopard may be more than just the software sales but may release another bit of pent up demand of consumers waiting for the new system to buy a new cpu. If this is the case, Apple may really clean up during the holiday quarter.

As to the guessing about new products, a pda just larger than an iPhone wouldn't seem to make much sense to me. That could be an iTouch with some extra capabilities. If I had to guess, I would guess for an ultraportable mac. Apple has had some experience in this area with that small laptop that they had introduced for schools. The question is what would something like this cost and would it be something that the consumer would want at the price that Apple could afford to make it at? Would this type of device be more acceptable to a business client since they tend to lug these things around airports and might get the most benefit from a lighter laptop and therefore would Apple need more penetration into the business world for it to be accepted.

It is always interesting in Apple land ;-).
