I feel bad, because I love Marion Jones. I never made that love known because her ex-husband scares the crap out of me. <G> Hell, I couldn't catch her anyway. If he couldn't womp her with a shot put, he wouldn't have ever caught her, either.
That being said, I knew she was on performance enhancing drugs. As are the rest of the track world record holders. It's just that she didn't look like an East German sprinter. She only had one set of genitals and she didn't have that famous Flo Jo moustache. <G> And she is nearly as pretty as Carl Lewis, though not quite as feminine.
All you have to do to make a good long term currency play is ask, "is this currency printed in a country run by George Flubadubya Bush?" If the answer is no, buy it. You would have lost money in Zimbabwe and made it in 85 other countries. Those are good odds. The Euro has surprised me. I have pretty much avoided it and it has performed the best, much to my chagrin, if I had a chagrin. Can you believe that I actually bought into some of that "old Europe" crap the administration was foisting on the world? I still think Asia is the place to be, at a price, and Latin America is the second place to be, at a very low price. But civilized, sophisticated Western democracies treating their money with respect can still make some dough against "print until we kill ourselves" America. |
