I really do think it is in the water over there. Something in it must eat away at grey matter, something nefarious that puts a veil over the more organized and logical mental processes we have. Otherwise, how to explain the mass delusions, the utter failure to use logic, and the reliance on rhetoric, metaphor and folk tales rather than on reason?

You and I may debate issues, but at least we try to use science, reason, logic and facts rather than rhetoric. And while we may disagree, I can genuinely say that it is a matter of interpretation that separates us. I don't have to use a hammer to suggest that the evidence is not what it is or that you are delusional. Reasonable people making reasonable arguments reasonably disagreeing.

Do that in the Mideast or in Persia and you are liable to lose a limb, or worse.
