I know about Maslow and his hierarchy of needs, self-actualization and all that. When I first read about it I thought it was pretty interesting. I'm just wondering about the symbolance of it all... One of the funniest movie scenes I've seen is from Brother From Another Planet. Two midwestern white guys are in Chicago for a self-actualization seminar and get lost. They wind up in a black bar and spend some time drinking with the regulars. The dialogue is hilarious! You oughtta check it out. Reasonable gay people are content with civil unions, it's the radical element that keeps pushing for marriage.
