TURKEY, IRAQ: Turkish forces are involved in an operation in the Gabar Mountain area on the Turkish-Iraqi border, Sabah newspaper reported. The operation is targeting possible Kurdistan Workers' Party hideouts. F-16 warplanes, sent from Turkey's second tactical air force command in Diyarbakir, reportedly bombed the valley between Gabar Mountain and Kupeli Mo untain. Cobra-type aircraft -- likely AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters -- are also participating in the operation, as are special forces A, B and C teams and rangers familiar with the region.
