The man in charge of the format of congressional documents is called the "architect" of the congress. He requested permission from Pelosi to remove "God" from the flag certificate and she ok'd the change. A few mos ago an eagle scout requested a flag for his grandfather and was terribly disappointed when the certificate arrived without the usual God reference. He contacted the Speaker's office and numerous news outlets--in the hot glare with added rumbling from congressional Repubs, Madame Speaker reversed her decision. The Scout said he was gratified to know one citizen still carries some clout with congress. Pelosi knew when to fold 'em but she spends too much time in SF.
