UPDATING ON THE CONTROVERSY OVER THE CEMETERY IN LONDON

FIRST ARTICLE

"Muslim graves could displace 350,000 bodies
Ed Harris, Evening Standard

A third of a million bodies could be dug up from a historic east London CEMETERY to make way for a new Muslim burial site. "

thisislondon.co.uk.

MJ Comment: This is appalling that they would consider digging up 350,000 dead Englishman of previous years and centuries, removing the old stones in this cemetery to make way for this request. Already so much of history has been lost because of the various wars that England has been through.

I have been researching our English and other European ancestors for 30 years. I am appalled that England would consider allowing the disturbing of these graves and souls.

I have commented to the article, my writing has not beem published and that's fine---- but I have added a voice to those who questioned this loss of history and lack of respect for these souls.

ON THE SAME SITE I FOUND A SECOND ARTICLE THAT DESCRIBES THE CEMETERY IN DETAIL and THE RESPONSE OF PEOPLE TO THE POSSIBILITY, OBVIOUSLY OVERWHELMINGLY OPPOSED.

A second article on the subject:

thisislondon.co.uk

According to this article 'by England's law bodies may be removed from the ground after 75 years' .

Do our cemeteries here in America have such arcane laws?

Are we paying to bury and maintain a grave plot for 75 years or some other number? Seems that Christians who believe that once the body is laid to rest it should not be moved could be deceived by legalities.

Putting this on my research list in Virginia.
