Do our cemeteries here in America have such arcane laws? Are we paying to bury and maintain a grave plot for 75 years or some other number?

They really are necessary. It's amazing how much downtown property in Cities is tied up with 100+ year old Tombstones. The problem here is that every time a building goes up, we get the natives out there shaking rattles and complaining about disturbing dead Cannibals.
