"you mean like AlGore's father and KKKByrd ?" koan: Both cases are inexcusable in my opinion! But rememer nuance. Both Thomas Jefferson and George Washington had slaves. And Washington's wife bought George a slave for his birthday. Jefferson had to know slavery was wrong, as he freed them when he died. Why didn't he free them before he died? Peoples behavior has to be judged by the relative time in history when it occured. Our collective consciencenness is evolving. Today not only slavery, but segregation seems barbaric to all of us.
