Well, Moose, I will not argue that one.

Like I said, I think conservatives and liberals not only talk past each other, but neither seems to be able to see the others point of view.

The perfect example is James Carville and Mary Matlin. They are married and have been for a long time, have children and both are top advisers to their respective parties.

Now if those two cannot change each others minds, who can-lol?

I am afraid this characteristic of the human spcies, of not being able to comunicate, will be our undoing as a species given worldwide nuclear profileration.

Take this problem of seeing each others point of view and extend it to the worlds myriad cultures and belief systems.

In much of the world women are still sold at birth for example. How do we, as a species, communicate adequately with differnt countries and cultures to prevent nuclear annihilation?

That is the 64 dollar question and to be honest I have little hope for our children's future because of this one primary shortcoming of our species. We cannot communicate adequately to survive modern technology.

This is the reason I "spoil" my daughters so much and work towards making sure they can enjoy life as much as possible now.

And soon we will have quantum computers!

I have little hope of our species making it to the next century.
