I see that chart nearly a year old, Shack.....and the 2007 and 2008 data are projections...Actual US 2007 came in far less than earlier projected.

Latest data for 2007, per Economist (in some cases...but not US...still a forecast(...deficits as %GDP:

Britain...2.7
Japan....2.5
Italy..... 2.5
France..2.4
US........1.6

And you virtuous, conservative, Canadians off the map with a SURPLUS 0.6%...sigh
