lol, the zionists got much less than the arabs. Way way less, and way less than they wanted. But they took advantage of their opportunity, organized and built. The Arabs of Palestine didn't. If they had, and nobody stopped them except themselves, they would have been in position to want a Palestinian state in 1948, to want it in a realistic way, with somebody ready to hand the reins to. Then history would have been quite different.

But it just wasn't there. Instead everybody who counted in Arab Palestine ran away and waited for the Arab High Command to save them.

There's excellent reason Abba Eban said of them, "The Palestinians have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
