LBJ tried the great society and we found out very quickly that too many people take advantagr of the assistance. "Free" resources are ALWAYS overused. You expect otherwise? This isn't "free". This is just a scheme to transfer costs from one group to another. But we could not know without the experience, so then we (USA) tightened up. Cut the crap. Anyone with half a brain knows the answer to this "puzzle". A society needs to do it, but how, is a real big question!? WE DO? WHY? How DID all those thousands of generations of mankind that came before us survive without govt-provided health care anyway????? Before WW2 health insurance and company subsized health insurance were almost unknown. They became common because the gov't, in its infinite wisdom, made competition with wages between companies illegal during WW2- -so they competed with benefits. Hence compnany subsidized health insurance. How DID you grandfather or great-granfather survive without ths anyway? Are you REALLY willing to sacrifice the legitimate and necessary functions of gov't for this?????
