I live in New York City. Given that I have more than 300 foot of concrete over my head when I sleep, I suppose you could say I live under a very big rock. Us peasant folks in NYC, don't need to drive much. Many of us do not even have a DL. We have this thing called a subway system and it works quite well.

I've also lived in France. Another backwards place. 80% of energy there comes from nuclear plants. It tends to work pretty well.

I've also worked in much of Asia and in such backwards places as Kyoto, Singapore, and Hong Kong. None of them need nearly half as much gas as the US does.

But most of all, I see that you cannot read. I did not suggest that we have to dig into AK or go nuclear, although I am not necessarily against those. But what I said was that we already get most of our oil from Latin America, so we don't really need the Arabs' oil, do we? And whatever little portion of our oil that comes from the Persian Gulf, with minor inconveniences, we can do away with.

So why are you selling your principles so cheaply for a few barrels of oil that you don't really need?
