Re: [Assassinating JFK] was a little(!!!) beyond the powers of Jim Crow, the Mafia, or Fidel. What's more, our welfare state-where the daddy had to be outta the house- was created by Lyndon. Naw, your research doesn't cut it.

My wits make up for a lack of research... The US Congress --especially all the Senate Committees-- were firmly in the hands of segregationist Southerners. The Mafia and Castro were merely cheap decoys that were fed to US public opinion to conceal the real, only culprit --namely: LBJ and the racist, rightwing establishment, period. Do your homework:

Civil Rights Act of 1964
en.wikipedia.org

As for LBJ "creating" your welfare state, that was precisely what the murderous tradeoff was all about: only a trueborn Southerner (LBJ was a Texan) would be allowed to desegregate the South --just like a hawkish IDF war hero like Ariel Sharon was allowed to relinquish the Gaza Strip... It seems to be a historical pattern for doves (JFK, Yitzak Rabin, Anuar el Sadat, Abraham Lincoln, Aldo Moro, the mayor of Evian [the Evian agreement led to Algeria's independence in 1962]*) to be assassinated only to have their conciliatory agendas implemented by their hawkish opponents.

Besides, if Jim Crow wasn't that powerful in 1960s America then how do you explain away the assassinations of M.L. King and RFK in 1968? and that of Malcom X? Carmichael's flight to Liberia?
