LIAR. Carter didn't "abandon the shah". That's total BS. We had no military option in Iran, it's too big a country and was allied with the Soviets. Reagan never lifted a finger against Iran either because it's way too risky and we'd need a million troops to invade it.

Carter's problem was he accepted the Shah into the US for medical treatment. The Shah was dying of cancer at the time. Because Carter allowed the Shah into our country the radicals in Iran took our hostages.

Carter tried to rescue the hostages but something went wrong. Maybe Ollie North sabotaged it to help the rightwing get rid of Carter. Or just those sand storms., Whichever.

Carter was also saddled with the huge inflation recession after the Vietnam War when the bills came in for that war. We will experience something similar when we finally have to pay for the Iraq debacle, after traitors Bush-Cheney are gone back to their cushy ranches with their huge stock option packages from Halliburton, Exxon and the Carlyle Group.
