John, yes, no written document. But there is Hansard, which is a complete record of Parliament and of course all laws are written, signed and form the common law, along with that of Britain trailing on back to Magna Carta or somewhere in the mists of time.
No, I'm in NZ, haven't done more than visit USA, but lived in Canada for 3 years. I know a bit about USA and USA constitution but it hasn't been a topic of official study for me.
NZers are everywhere, like ants. We have a compulsive roaming instinct. Being refugees from around the world or adventurers, seems to be the basis for that. Plus living far from anywhere.
NZs peaceable processes are based on a commonly held sense of values, so we tend to tolerance and while legalism is common, it is not the day to day fact of life that it seems to be in the USA.
