UPDATE 1-U.S. sues Lloyds TSB Bank, Bank of Cyprus Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:48pm EDT (Adds details, background, comment) NEW YORK, Oct 15 (Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors said on Monday they had filed civil money laundering charges against Lloyds TSB Bank Plc and the Bank of Cyprus (BOC.CY: Quote, Profile, Research), alleging the banks let hundreds of millions of dollars generated in a securities fraud case to be laundered. The government seeks monetary civil penalties of at least $130 million from Lloyds TSB Bank, a unit of Lloyds TSB Group Plc (LLOY.L: Quote, Profile, Research), and at least $162 million from Bank of Cyprus, the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan said.... reuters.com
