Agreed. But in the last 6 years it has become SO OBVIOUS, and the consequences are so dire, that it's impossible to believe we are not in a full fledged war to get off the stuff.

In six years it's gone up >400%, and that's about $60 a barrel increase. If it goes up 200% in the next 3 years that's $255 a barrel. Out of the question? Not at all.

And the Republicans worry about a tax increase....
