I don't know much about legal proceedings and such, but I believe the 7th Circuit (in California?) has come out with a ruling that the 2nd is a "group" right, while the 5th (in Louisiana) and the DC Appeals Court have ruled it as an "individual" right. I really don't know exactly where that leaves us, and if SCOTUS doesn't take it up on the agenda next year, we may stay in limbo for a while. A lot can happen in a year. Maybe Stevens or Ginsburg will die or retire, maybe there will be another big Columbine or VA Tech type incident, maybe, maybe, maybe.
