Does anyone think the threat of Turkey invading Iraq overblown? At the present time about 40% of Iraq's oil production comes from Kirkuk and flows through a pipeline to a Turkish port just North of the Syrian border. It's my understanding Turkey collects a fat transit fee for this oil and it's an important source of revenue for the country.
The pipeline has been damaged several times by sabotage and did not appear to effect the price of oil as I recall.

There was an article earlier this year regarding the proposal to build a new 40 inch pipeline from Kirkuk, through Jordan, into the port of Haifa in Israel. There were hints at the time that the alternative pipeline was part of an attempt to apply pressure on Turkey. It worked as Turkey protested the proposal.

Would Turkey risk the loss of revenue from the Kirkuk pipeline which will no doubt be closed if they invade Northern Iraq?
It's my humble opinion the Turks are angry with the
Congressional Genocide Resolution and are doing a little saber rattling.
