Kerry served but he has exaggerated his exploits - claiming things like trips into Cambodia which pretty obviously come from movies. The worst thing he did was run down his fellow vets in the "winter soldier" testimony to Congress. Thats his big sin. And he should have acknowledged his error early on in his campaign and apologized and he might h/b able to defuse the Swift Vets.
