You have to read Hulbert CAREFULLY and probably subscribe because he is factual but he can confuse you just like Greenspan confuses the liberals who wanted to pin him down on tax cuts.

in his article today, Hulbert says all 10 of the top market timing newsletters are well ahead of a buy-and-hold. (emphasis added)

What Hulbert didn't report is the top ranked newsletters he tracks are not all market timing newsletters!

What he didn't report in that article but he reported in other newsletters is market timing newsletters almost ALWAYS do better in a 10 year period with a bear market because the odds favor them being out of the market some of the time. He showed that most of them, including Brinker's, under performed the markets in 10 year periods that don't include a bear market, such as Jan 1990 to Jan 2000.

Brinker had a guest on his show who wrote a book called "Fooled by Randomness." I recommend you read it.
