NEW YORK -- Crude-oil futures ended at a record high Thursday and continued climbing after settlement, as the dollar weakened and tensions between Turkey and Iraq kept traders on edge.

Light, sweet crude for November delivery settled $2.07, or 2.4%, higher at $89.47 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange ended at a record $84.57, up $1.44. That's the fourth record close in five trading sessions.
