Maurice, I'm a rank amateur here - but...

These are not stationary satellites, are they? My understanding is they orbit at a speed that puts them out of sequence with the earth's rotation. So we're not looking at a 12 hours on, 12 hours off situation. Probably more like on, off, on, off every 3 or 4 hours (just guessing here). However, that should reduce substantially the satellite's need to hold a charge over time, certainly not the 12 hours you seem to be postulating (or have I missed your point).

Anyway, I'm holding my position in GSTRF, but looking at "energizer" (the bunny and the battery), Sears "die hard" and others as hedge investments.
