David, I agree with the sentiment about truth.

"I urge you to study The Bible and learn the truth, for The Truth shall set you free."

But I can't help but have spring to mind "Work will make you free" or words to that effect put up over the entranceway at another dogmatic place by some very authoritative people who really had the word.

It was over the entranceway to Dachau or Auschwitz or one of those training/work camps some Germans were running some time ago. They used "Mein Kampf" as their reference.

Setting me free seems paradoxical. I am free. Everyone insists I have free will, and not only that, but it was created in the Dog Theory. Jfred and the Christians have got a lot in common. I suppose he and you are doing a "good cop bad cop" routine on me. What do you think of THAT Jfred?!! You closet Christian.

The peculiar thing is that I think the truth makes me not free. Now isn't that a way of looking at it. And even more than that, the understanding that "the truth" is deterministic, is much more liberating than superstition.

Or as a guy who knew a few things said: "Dog does not play dice".
