It's not that we love milk, it's that we dislike opinion stated as fact (I'm guilty of it once or twice).

The article that you reference is silly. Yes, if the only time you drink milk is when you have cookies, then you are probably going to get fat when you drink milk. If you substitute the calories that should be allotted to healthy foods to junk foods, chances are you are going to get fat (I'm guilty there, too).

I agree that water should be easily available in schools.

If you live in SF, the water there is great. You can always filter your water if you don't like the taste. No need to have a plastic container for every quart of water you drink. In fact, a lot of bottled water is nothing more than tap water.
