<<<Do you really think that K-12 education in this country is something to aim for? Yeah, it's mandatory, nominally. Yeah, it's free. But is it good? Marginally adequate, maybe. Is that all you want from your health care, which may be life or death? Is that the model we want? >>>

The fact that we recognise there is a problem is a big step forward. We all know there are problems in education. We also know however that solutions exist. There are a lot of examples of success. We have seen where a kid has come from a trailer park existence and become President of the United States. We have seen kids in inner cities take advantage of what is offered and even get a free education through college to become Secretary of State (in one example).

Elsewhere, most people who graduated more than 30 or 40 forty years ago from the most competitive universities in America would not be able to gain admissions in today's competitive environment. Progress in education has been made, but it is not across the board.

As far as higher education goes, we have by far the best colleges and universities in the world. No nation can compete with us. Yet, there are people in this country that want to trash these institutions. Go figure.

Similarly in healthcare. The solution exists. The only problem is there are some misguided people who are set against solving these problems and for some strange reason are using deceptive tactics to prevent others from finding a solution.
