there are no doubt a few owners who will get bailed out by this on their structures. but all the insurers have to do is rebuild the structure, and if i understand the Clownifornia markets correctly most of the "value" is tied up in the land. unless several hundred K homes are condemned i wonder what this could really do to help the housing bubble.

on the other hand, it will certainly delay closings and sales. i bet SD sales between now and end of the year are less than one week of 2005 peak sales.
