3:10 to Yuma--Glenn Ford version.

My biggest impression so far (I paused it half way through to go to bed) is amazement at the similarities of script between the Glenn Ford version of 3:10 and the Russell Crowe version. So far the story line hasn't varied a bit, and the major differences are in characters played differently by different actors, the mood music, and the general style of movie-making from different eras.

I'm enjoying the older film but it's much harder to visualize Glenn Ford as a bad guy than Russell Crowe. I don't know if that means Crowe is the better actor--just different.

I rather like some of the aspects of newer film making, as long as they don't try to take some kind of political position. The costuming in the Crowe version of 3:10 is superior.
